Autoclave Processing

An autoclave is a machine used to carry out industrial and scientific processes requiring elevated temperature and pressure in relation to ambient pressure/temperature. Autoclaves are used in medical applications to perform sterilization and in the chemical industry to cure coatings and vulcanize rubber and for hydrothermal synthesisIndustrial autoclaves are used in industrial applications, especially in the manufacturing of composites.

Wolf utilizes a 10’x20′ Autoclave, one of the largest autoclaves available. All parts are made using a customizable dwell and cooling time for ultimate control with various laminate schedules and design considerations. We also provide autoclave rental options.

Autoclave Benefits

Longer material life

Autoclave cure prepreg resins require high cure times and therefore allow for longer material outlife.

High strength to weight ratio

The autoclave curing process pulls all excess resin out of a part, allowing for the lightest, most efficient layup schedule. No messy wet layup or resin buildup!

High quality surface finish

The pressure/vacuum process of the autoclave cure makes for near perfect surface finish. Any air bubbles or voids are pulled out during the cycle.

Fully automated control

Our fully programable, computerized autoclave cure cycles ensure that each part is made to the same specifications as the last. This process achieves complete uniformity between parts in multiple runs.
